Free solo
Climbing the stairs is one of the most dangerous activities someone with mobility limitations can do within the home. It puts pressure both on these individuals and their caretakers. Free Solo arrests downward falls and creates a light upward pull to assist the user up the stairs.
This product was delivered in the prototype phase. The prototype was created using a seatbelt retractor taken out of a junkyard car, but would ideally mimic the arresting mechanism of a rock climbing auto-belay device, delivering a softer fall arrest.
